Backlit signs don’t have to be basic or boring!

I grabbed this shot of a set of sign faces we installed for Bay Avenue Plant Company in Surf City on Thursday. The client had hoped for a dimensional, sandblasted sign with gold leaf. Because of site restrictions however, they were forced to use a double sided backlit sign. After consideration, our recommendation was to make the sign “look” dimensional while backlit at the same time. This job turned out great and is an excellent example of the fact that the faces for your backlit signs can be more imaginative and effective when you think beyond basic vinyl lettering.

Look and feel updates

Since I am always telling you that consistency in your presentation is so important, I figured I had to find the time to make the blog more consistent with the main site and our promotional materials. Trouble is, when you’re so busy promoting your client’s businesses, the promotion of your own business often falls behind.

Brings up the point that we’re not just a business that makes signs, we’re a business that promotes your business. Think of us not just as signmakers, but as architects of your business promotion structure.

Dimensional Gold Leaf Signs Beach Haven Long Beach Island

There’s nothing like the beauty of a gold leaf sign on a blue sky sunny day. I had to run to Beach Haven today and grabbed this shot of this beautiful sign that we completed last summer for Bay Village in Beach Haven on 9th Street. The letters are prismatic and raised off of the background, which has been textured to give added depth. The sign is mounted to the roof with custom welded aluminum brackets.

Custom neon signs for all of your needs

“WE DO” custom neon window signs, display pieces and yes, even “OPEN” signs. Hey, did you know that most of the individual lit letters you see on storefronts are actually lit with neon? And yes, we can make those, too!

One of the indesputible benefits of neon is it’s extreme visibility at night time. If you are looking to get your storefront noticed, interior neon in your windows would be an excellent choice. One added benefit: interior window neon bypasses most sign ordinances and local codes–which can give your business an edge without variances, approvals and the like.

LeFevre Painting: Using Digital “Dimension” to increase vehicle lettering advertising impact

One of the great things about all of the digital printing technology that we have is our ability to significantly increase the advertising value and impact of vehicle graphics & lettering projects. Of course, the printers themselves are nothing without our great creative minds and their digital techniques! With these two powerful tools, we’re able to step up our vehicle graphics significantly. You’ll notice the carved and chiseled look to LeFevre’s logo on this truck. Although it’s not truly three dimensional our techniques give it an almost realistic dimensional look.

Using a CNC Router to cut individual plastic letters

One of our most versatile tools in the shop is our CNC router. The machine, made by Gerber Scientific, was not inexpensive, yet has proven it’s worth time and time again. Here we are cutting a set of plastic letters that read "Sales Center." for Lighthouse Development in Manahawkin. Yes, they are upside down, that’s because we cut them from behind so that we can also program the machne to drill mounting holes in the letters. This way, the letters will match up perfectly with the paper installation pattern we use to ensure that they are installed with perfect spacing and alignment. If you have noticed the simplicity and effectiveness of individual cut out letters, we can make these in nearly and size shape or color and in a material that best suits your needs.
