Using a CNC Router to cut individual plastic letters

By Typestries, March 1, 2006

One of our most versatile tools in the shop is our CNC router. The machine, made by Gerber Scientific, was not inexpensive, yet has proven it’s worth time and time again. Here we are cutting a set of plastic letters that read "Sales Center." for Lighthouse Development in Manahawkin. Yes, they are upside down, that’s because we cut them from behind so that we can also program the machne to drill mounting holes in the letters. This way, the letters will match up perfectly with the paper installation pattern we use to ensure that they are installed with perfect spacing and alignment. If you have noticed the simplicity and effectiveness of individual cut out letters, we can make these in nearly and size shape or color and in a material that best suits your needs.
