This project combined in-house design, digital printing and fabrication with extensive planning and a carefully executed installation on the building’s corrugated metal exterior. At this scale, getting the details right before installation was every bit as important as the installation itself.

A 40-Foot Storefront Sign Requires Planning

Large-format building signage magnifies every detail. With a sign spanning roughly 40 feet across the storefront, we needed to carefully plan the overall dimensions, panel layout, graphic alignment and mounting before production began.

The existing corrugated metal facade added another layer to the project. The finished sign needed to fit the architecture properly while maintaining consistent alignment across a very large visual field.

In-House Digital Printing & Aluminum Composite Panels

The graphics were digitally printed in house and applied to aluminum composite sign panels. Careful vinyl production and panel preparation were essential so the individual components would come together as one cohesive storefront identity once installed.

Producing the graphics and sign components in house gave Typestries direct control over the color, print execution, panel preparation and final fit of the finished branding.

Materials Selected for Long-Term Coastal Exposure

The storefront faces east in a coastal environment, so material selection was an important part of the project. We took extra care to specify materials intended to maximize the useful life of the graphics and sign system under long-term exterior exposure.

That matters for a sign of this size. A major storefront identity should be designed not only to look right on installation day, but to continue representing the business well for years.
