Custom Crafted Awards for the Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off

Some projects are a perfect example of what happens when different crafts come together.

For the Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off, we collaborated with Rusty Anchor Trading Co. to create custom handcrafted awards for the 2025 chowder champions, which were presented at the 2026 Chowder Cook Off   . Rusty Anchor created the beautiful sculpted wood bases, giving each award an organic, coastal character that feels right at home on Long Beach Island.

Typestries then added the finishing details: a custom gold mirror laser-cut Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off emblem along with digitally printed winner graphics that were custom heat formed to follow the shape and character of the handcrafted bases.

The finished pieces recognize Country Kettle Chowda as the 2025 New England Chowder Champion and Lefty’s Tavern as the 2025 Manhattan Chowder Champion.

We love projects like this because they go beyond a traditional sign. Custom fabrication, dimensional graphics, specialty materials and another local maker’s craftsmanship came together to create awards that are genuinely unique to the event and the community behind it.
